October 14, 2021: Domestic Violence & Malicious Destruction of Property – Found Not Guilty by Jury!

Mr. Idumesaro’s client was charged by the West Bloomfield Township Prosecuting Attorney with Domestic Violence and Malicious Destruction of Property. Through rigorous cross-examination, Mr. Idumesaro exposed multiple contradictions in the complainant’s testimony. At the close of the Prosecution’s case, Mr. Idumesaro’s client took the stand. Mr. Idumesaro used his own head and his client’s fingers to demonstrate to the jury that the complainant’s alleged injury was a factual impossibility. The jury deliberated for about two hours and returned a unanimous verdict of not guilty on both counts!

April 16, 2021: Welfare Fraud – Dismissed at final probable cause conference!

Mr. Idumesaro’s client was charged by the Lapeer County Prosecutor’s Office with Welfare Fraud (Failure to Inform) contrary to MCL 400.60(2). Mr. Idumesaro negotiated a resolution of the case that involved a dismissal of the charge and protected his client’s immigration status.

April 1, 2021: Check – No Account – Dismissed at preliminary examination!

Mr. Idumesaro’s client was charged by the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office with Check – No Account (allegedly contrary to MCL 750.131a). At the end of the preliminary examination, Judge Nichols (1st District Court, Monroe, Michigan) agreed with Mr. Idumesaro’s arguments against a bind over and granted Mr. Idumesaro’s motion for a dismissal of the charge.

July 6, 2020: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Dismissed at Pretrial!

Mr. Idumesaro’s client was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia by the City of Pontiac, Michigan. Mr. Idumesaro invested time in investigating the circumstances of the case and successfully utilized relevant provisions of Michigan law (commonly called Good Samaritan Law) to effect a resolution of the case that involved a dismissal of the charge, among other rehabilitative measures.

January 17, 2020: Domestic Violence – Found Not Guilty by Jury!

Mr. Idumesaro’s client was charged with domestic violence by the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office. Mr. Idumesaro vigorously cross-examined the alleged victim and revealed inconsistent statements that destroyed the credibility of the alleged victim. Mr. Idumesaro also utilized exculpatory statements from the arresting law enforcement agent to raise reasonable doubts in the mind of the jury. The jury deliberated for less than 40 minutes and returned a Not Guilty verdict!

December 11, 2019: Assault and Battery – Found Not Guilty by Jury!

Mr. Idumesaro’s client was charged with assault and battery by the City of Pontiac, Michigan. The prosecution tried to utilize an innocent statement by Mr. Idumesaro’s client to law enforcement agents to imply to the jury an admission of guilt. Mr. Idumesaro, in his characteristic nature, invested ample time investigating the case, interviewing witnesses, visiting the alleged locus criminis (place of the alleged crime) and re-enacted the story before the jury showing that the alleged victim was the initial aggressor and Mr. Idumesaro’s client acted in self-defense. This was a case that did not require the defense to prove self-defense. However, Mr. Idumesaro convinced the jury that his client acted in self-defense. The jury deliberated for less than an hour and returned a Not Guilty verdict!
